Trade Engagement Executive of Greater China & Rest of Asia

Job Title: Trade Engagement Executive of Greater China & Rest of Asia
Location: Shanghai China

Role Purpose

To cultivate and manage strategic relationships with key travel trade partners (tour operators and travel agencies) across Greater China (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan) and the Rest of Asia (Korea, Singapore and SEA). Lead the development, execution, and analysis of joint co-op trade marketing campaigns to maximize Fiji’s visibility, increase travel agent engagement, and drive sales conversion.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Travel Agent Relationship Management (20%)
    • Conduct regular business reviews
    • Develop tailored engagement plans for top-tier agencies to accelerate Fiji product sales.
    • Address trade partner needs and resolve operational issues in collaboration with Trade Partnerships Manager – Greater China.
  1. Co-op Campaign Leadership (70%)
  • Design, negotiate, and implement end-to-end co-op marketing campaigns with partners (e.g., joint promotions, FAM trips, digital activations, trade incentives).
  • Manage campaign budgets, timelines, creative assets, and legal agreements.
  • Track campaign performance (ROI, lead generation, sales uplift) and deliver post-campaign reports with actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with Tourism Fiji’s Marketing Manager – Asia to align campaigns with brand initiatives.
  1. Market Intelligence & Sales Growth (10%)
  • Monitor competitor activities and travel trade trends to identify new opportunities.
  • Provide trade feedback to shape Fiji’s product development and trade support tools.
  • Achieve annual targets for agent engagement, campaign participation, and incremental Fiji bookings.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential

  • 5+ years in travel trade sales/account management, preferably within an NTO/DMO, tour operator, airline, or travel agency.
  • Deep understanding of the travel distribution landscape in Greater China (mandatory) and broader Asia.
  • Proven success in planning/executing co-op marketing campaigns from brief to ROI analysis.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in interpreting sales data, market reports, and digital metrics.
  • Fluent English and Mandarin (written/spoken).
  • Willingness to travel across the region and to Fiji.

Desirable

  • Experience with CRMs (e.g., Salesforce) and trade marketing platforms.
  • Knowledge of Fiji’s tourism products and destination strengths.
